The book is a compilation of 45 auto-biographical short stories divided into 4 sections:  Encounters with People, Encounters with Nature, Encounters with Self, and Encounters of The Unusual Kind.

The cover displays a self-portrait giving the appearance of both the masculine and the feminine as a way of looking inward, analyzing her life according to her experiences,  having always displayed qualities typically dedicated to either male or female roles.
